30 Simple Affirmations About Money And How They Work

So, you take to your favourite online search engine and you start typing in things like 'how to get rich', and 'how to make money', and you probably came across something to do with affirmations about money.

At this point you probably thought 'what is this crap I am reading', just like I did - or, maybe you are the sort that really likes to believe that sitting in a dark room chanting about money is going to bring you riches and fortune...

If so, how's that working out for ya? 😏

Newsflash - hocus pocus wishful thinking isn't going to make you rich. End of.

However...

Let's not dismiss the use of affirmations altogether.

If you are the skeptical sort, you may want to keep an open mind and read on a little while I try to break open the mystical universal code, and explain what affirmations really are.

What are Affirmations?

affirmations for money, wizard, money spell, magic, what are affirmations

Let's start with what affirmations ARE NOT to dispel some myths...

They are NOT magic.

They are NOT a religious chant.

They are NOT a prayer to God.

They are NOT a message to the universe.

They are NOT a wish.

So, what are they I hear you mutter...

Affirmations are a statement - they are a belief about yourself. They are a tool that you can use to help re-program your subconscious mind to improve your self belief.

An affirmation, more often than not, is an 'I AM' statement - 2 very powerful words.

They can be positive and negative - most of the time we don't even realise we are using negative affirmations to make ourselves feel bad, it just comes natural to us!

'I am not good enough', 'I am not good with money', 'I am dumb', 'I am ugly'....

Ever catch your self talking to yourself like this? Sure you do - everyone does it.

Well, we need to start to make affirmations work for us. The goal of affirmations is to replace negative thoughts and beliefs with positive ones, which can lead to improved self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.

Affirmations can be used to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, self-doubt, and negative self-talk. They can also be used to achieve specific goals, such as weight loss, career advancement, or financial success.

It is important to note that affirmations will not work overnight. It takes time and consistent effort to change your thought patterns and beliefs.

In addition, it can be helpful to write down affirmations and post them in a visible place, such as on a mirror or bulletin board, to remind you of the positive statements throughout the day.

How do affirmations work?

Affirmations work by rewiring the brain to think more positively.

When a person repeatedly says or thinks an affirmation, they are essentially training their brain to believe the statement as true.

This process is known as cognitive restructuring and is related to neuroplasticity, which refers to the brain's ability to change and adapt in response to new information and experiences.

Our thoughts and beliefs shape the way we see the world and ourselves, and when we repeat affirmations, we are essentially rewiring our brains to think and believe in a certain way, so...

When we repeatedly tell ourselves something, our brain starts to believe it.

The more often we repeat an affirmation, the more our brain gets used to hearing it and starts to accept it as true. It's like when you hear a new word, you might not know its meaning, but after hearing it repeatedly, it becomes a familiar word.

Affirmations also work by counteracting negative thoughts and beliefs. When we repeat positive affirmations, they help to counteract negative thoughts and beliefs that we may hold about ourselves.

By replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, we can begin to change our outlook on life and feel better about ourselves.

Additionally, affirmations can also change our behavior. When we believe something to be true about ourselves, it can influence our actions.

For example, if we tell ourselves "I am confident," we are more likely to act confidently in different situations.

The Power of Positive Affirmations for Financial Success

When it comes to achieving financial success, many people believe that hard work and smart financial planning are the only keys to success. While these are certainly important, aspect to it, there is another critical factor - your mindset.

Affirmations can help you to build up a strong mindset, i.e. your thoughts and beliefs, about money.

By using affirmations and repeating positive statements about yourself and your abilities, you can train your brain to believe them and act accordingly. This can be especially powerful when it comes to 'manifesting' financial success.

For example, if you're struggling with a lack of confidence in your ability to make money, you could use affirmations like "I am achieving all my financial goals", "I am worth more", or "I am capable of earning a high income."

By repeating these statements regularly, your brain will start to believe them and you'll start to see yourself as a financially successful person.

This can then lead to taking more actions to achieve financial success, which will achieve better results, which will improve your self belief - and so the subconscious programming cycle continues.

Affirmations can also be used to overcome limiting beliefs about money. For example, if you believe that you'll never be able to save enough money, you could use affirmations like "I am financially responsible", "I am good at managing my finances", or "I easily save money."

It's important to note that affirmations alone aren't going to make you rich overnight. However, when used in conjunction with smart financial planning and hard work, affirmations can be a powerful tool for manifesting financial success.

Another important thing to keep in mind when using affirmations for financial success is to be specific and realistic. Saying something like “I am a millionaire” might not be realistic for you to achieve, but saying something like “I am making more money each month” is more specific and achievable.

In my previous post about the Law of Attraction, I explained how I used a method which involved writing my goals down as affirmations and reading them aloud twice a day, and how I achieved those goals through opportunities that just...came to me!?

Well, I certainly didn't start out repeating "I am a millionaire" because that just wouldn't have been believable for me.

It has to be something on the edge of your self belief - far enough out to make it worth while, but just close enough to make it believable, then move out in steps - once you achieve your first goal, set a bigger goal, then bigger still.

How to use Affirmations Correctly to Attract Money

Affirmations should be used in line with your goals and used as a tool to improve your thoughts to create a belief that you truly can and will achieve your goals.

When you start to think like this, you 'attract' opportunities to you to help you achieve your goals, or more accurately, you program your subconscious mind to focus on and identify relevant opportunities.

Below are some steps to consider if you want to start using affirmations effectively:

  • Choose affirmations that align with your specific goals and timeline.
  • Write them down and post them in a visible location, such as on your mirror or computer.
  • Repeat the affirmations to yourself daily, ideally in the morning and before bed.
  • Repeat the affirmations with conviction and feeling, as if they are already true i.e., try to imagine the feeling you will feel once you achieve your goal.
  • Visualize yourself already achieving your goals while repeating the affirmations.
  • Be patient and consistent, as it may take time to see the results.
  • Be open to receiving and act on opportunities that align with your affirmations
  • Track your progress, take note of the changes and adjust your affirmations accordingly
  • Use the affirmations in conjunction with other positive actions and strategies towards your goals
  • Remember that affirmations are not magic, they are a tool, and you need to take action towards your goal for it to manifest
  • Keep a positive attitude and avoid negative self-talk, as affirmations will be less effective if you don't believe in them.

If you don't know where to start, I will list some general ideas below - but I strongly suggest you mix your affirmations with your goals - so for example, "I am good at managing my finances and will have paid off all my debt by [insert date]".

Final Thoughts

OK, so to sum it up, hopefully what you got from this was that affirmations aren't just a load of made-up BS and can actually help you to achieve your financial goals.

They are not, however, magic, mystical or divine, they are a tool you can use to reprogram your mind and they need to be used in conjunction with your goals.

Also, you need to be ready and willing to take action on opportunities when they present themselves.

Affirmations also have a bad side, and if you are not careful, you can use them in a negative way by telling yourself negative statements which then have the opposite effect to that which we seek.

As Jim Rohn used to say, "Stand guard at the doors of your mind. The mind is a fertile garden - be sure not to plant poison".

So...

You now know what they are, how they work, how to use them and have some ideas to get you started...
